Mission

1. To develop higher level professionals in the field of disability studies.
2. To develop a holistic approach for the total rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
3. To establish advanced facilities and promote research and extension activities in major areas of disabilities.
4. To establish linkages with National and International organizations for collaborate academic and research programs.
5. To act as a Nodal Resource centre for disseminating information to the parents and the professionals working with persons with disabilities.
6. To impart training to personnel of NGOs, parent groups, students, teachers, special educators and rehabilitation professionals.
7. To address the physical, psychological and socio-cultural issues related to disability based on interdisciplinary studies for evolving sustainable solutions.
8. To establish and facilitate parent’s self-help groups.
9. To promote employment to the persons with disabilities with the help of NGOs and parent’s self-help groups.
10. To strengthen the regular school system to facilitate inclusive education.

• ഭിന്നശേഷിക്കാരായ വ്യക്തികളുടെ ഉന്നമനത്തിനായി സമഗ്രമായ പുനരധിവാസ സമീപനം വികസിപ്പിക്കുക, നൂതന സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കുക, പ്രധാന വൈകല്യ മേഖലകളിൽ ഗവേഷണവും വിപുലീകരണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളും പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുക.
• ഭിന്നശേഷിക്കാരായ വ്യക്തികളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന മാതാപിതാക്കൾക്കും, വിദഗ്ധർക്കും വിവരങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്നതിന് ഐ.യു.സി.ഡി.എസിൽ ഒരു നോഡൽ വിവരാവകാശ കേന്ദ്രം സ്ഥാപിച്ചു് മികച്ച രീതിയിൽ പ്രവർത്തനം കാഴ്ചവയ്ക്കുക.
• അക്കാദമിക്, ഗവേഷണ സഹകരണത്തിനായി ദേശീയ, അന്തർദേശീയ സംഘടനകളുമായി ബന്ധം സ്ഥാപിക്കാൻ ഐ.യു.സി.ഡി.എസ് വിഭാവനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
• എൻ.ജി.ഒ. കൾ, രക്ഷാകർതൃ ഗ്രൂപ്പുകൾ, വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ, അധ്യാപകർ, സ്പെഷ്യൽ എഡ്യൂക്കേറ്റർമാർ, പുനരധിവാസ പ്രൊഫഷണലുകൾ എന്നിവർക്ക് കാലാനുസ്രുത പരിശീലനം നൽകുക.
• ഇന്റർ ഡിസിപ്ലിനറി ഗവേഷണങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്തി, വൈകല്യവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ശാരീരികവും, മാനസികവും, സാമൂഹികവും, സാംസ്കാരികവുമായ പുനരധിവാസത്തിന് സുസ്ഥിര പരിഹാരങ്ങൾ വികസിപ്പിക്കുക.
• എന്. ജി.ഒ. കളുടെയും, മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെ സ്വയം സഹായ സംഘങ്ങളുടെയും സഹായത്തോടെ ഭിന്നശേഷിക്കാർക്കിടയിൽ തൊഴിൽ സാധ്യതകൾ, തൊഴിൽ സാഹചര്യം, വരുമാനം ഇവ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെ സ്വയം സഹായ സംഘങ്ങള്  ആരംഭിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള സാഹചര്യം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുകയും, അവ വികസിപ്പിക്കുകയും, അതിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനം സുഗമമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.
• ഭാവി തലമുറയും, ഭിന്നശേഷി സാഹചര്യങ്ങളും കണക്കാക്കി ഭിന്നശേഷിക്കാരെ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്നതിനായി റെഗുലർ സ്കൂളുകൾ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് സമഗ്ര വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം സുഗമമാക്കുക.
